How the kids advocated for themselves!Â
Working with Rainbow Centre on their pilot enrichment programme, Watch Out, World! (WOW!), was such a delight! This programme is an initiative designed to empower talented young individuals with disabilities. WOW! supports participants as they develop skills in digital literacy, self-determination, and social interactions, guided by mentors tailored to their unique interests.
The illustrations were crafted to reflect the participants’ creativity, curiosity, and collaboration as they explored and grew through their projects. It was essential to represent the children not as a single group but to celebrate their individuality and the diversity of their needs and identities. The programme aims to foster student agency and self-confidence, equipping participants to become confident advocates for themselves and their communities.
