Stuff I Do
I call myself an illustrator, but in truth, I’m a bit of everything (including part dinosaur!) so here are some ways we can work together:
Illustration
Illustration to me is creating stories through images, whether on the page or in your mind. I believe in the power of an image to speak to everyone, regardless of background or language.
Each project is unique, and must be handled differently. Whatever the approach or aesthetic, it is powered by the same level of rigorous research and intensive development, to bring your project and audience together.
Storytelling
Illustration isn’t only for those who can draw, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! You’ll need boundless curiosity and keen observational skills to – looking at what’s around and spotting the little surprise within. We’ve learnt to express ourselves in words, but neglected to do that in pictures! Choose from programmes I’ve developed, or let me know if you’ve something new in mind!
Talks
I’ll share my working process and experience as an illustrator, exploring ways to engage through storytelling. I love speaking about and teaching anything related to stories, picture books and character design, especially in conjunction with natural and cultural heritage.
Teaching and workshops
I’ve worked with classes big and small, young and old and of all skill levels. Lessons are created to be extremely accessible, so everyone will get to develop artworks that are personal and unique.
School Visits
I wish I had to chance to hear from creatives while younger, and I enjoy inspiring students to create, whether writing or drawing. I’m happy to customise the session for any age or duration, possibly including storytelling, drawing demonstrations and mini-workshops.
Events
Treat your guests to a truly memorable event, where they’ll take home a personalised memento. I specialise in designing animal characters based on requests — it could be your pet, favourite animal or the beast of your nightmares!
