Teaching History with 100 Objects

How we put a map in every classroom

As a museum lover, I was beyond excited to work on the Teaching History with 100 Objects map, which introduces children to the fascinating world of history through artefacts found in museum collections across the UK. This project was an extension of the beloved BBC Radio 4 Series, A History of the World in 100 Objects, and it felt like a dream come true to combine my passion for museums with a project that would inspire the next generation.

Working with the British Museum—one of my favourite institutions in London—was truly an honour, and collaborating with the Department for Education made this project even more special. The maps were distributed to classrooms across the UK, helping young minds discover the incredible stories behind objects from around the globe. It was such a joy knowing that children would be exploring the rich and diverse world of history in a fun, engaging way!
