Singapore HeritageFest 2022

Growing up, I never really thought of heritage as something fun. But over the years, maybe it’s age, or maybe just a deeper understanding of how our past shapes our present and future, I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with museums.

So, when I was invited to create the illustrations for the Singapore Heritage Festival 2022, I was absolutely thrilled!
This year’s theme, which celebrates nature and travel, was a perfect fit for me. The festival featured over 100 on-site and online experiences, ranging from diving into the art of beekeeping to exploring the history of aviation, in celebration of Singapore Airlines’ 50th anniversary. It was amazing to see how the illustrations came to life across the city—from MRT stations to station platforms, and even on vending machines!

It was such an honour to be part of an event that brings our heritage to life in such a vibrant and accessible way, and I hope the illustrations helped make the experience even more engaging for all who explored it.
